This index includes all marathons from the 2025 calendar that meet our inclusion criteria. Every race listed here meets the following requirements:

  • At least 1,000 finishers
  • Open to the general public (no elite-only or invite-only events)
  • Verified 2025 results with sub-3 finishers

We prioritise courses with the potential to support sub-3 performances, but inclusion in this index does not imply endorsement or ranking. For that, see our World Marathon Rankings page.
