World’s Fastest Marathons – February 2026 Rankings
Fastest marathons in February 2026, ranked by verified sub-3 finisher data. See which races delivered and view every profiled event. Part of the Sub-3 World Marathon Rankings.
February sits between the depth of winter racing and the build-up to the major spring marathons. Across parts of Europe and East Asia, cool and stable conditions can produce genuinely fast fields, while in regions such as the southern United States and southern Africa races often benefit from dry air and moderate temperatures before seasonal heat becomes a factor. The month typically features a broader geographic spread than January, bringing together destination events and strong regional fixtures.
The February results reflect that mix. Several established races again delivered deep sub-3 participation, while others combined moderate field sizes with competitive front-end performances. As always, the rankings reward sustained depth across the field rather than isolated elite outcomes.
These rankings use Sub-3’s 45:45:10 methodology: 45% based on the percentage of sub-3 finishers, 45% on the absolute number of sub-3 finishers, and 10% on the fastest winning time. All results are drawn from verified 2025 races open to the general public and ranked accordingly.
