World’s Fastest Marathons – June 2025 Rankings

June 2025 sub-3 marathon rankings with verified data. A slower month overall, but standout races still emerged worldwide.

World’s Fastest Marathons – June 2025 Rankings

June marks the beginning of the summer marathon season — a period when high temperatures start to limit opportunities for fast running in many regions. But a select group of races still stand out, particularly those held at altitude, along coastal routes, or in northern latitudes. These events tend to attract smaller fields but remain popular with sub-3 hopefuls seeking early morning starts, downhill courses, or favourable microclimates.

As always, these rankings apply Sub-3’s standard methodology: 45% of the total score comes from the percentage of sub-3 finishers, 45% from the absolute number of sub-3 runners, and 10% from the fastest winning time. All figures are drawn from verified 2025 results and evaluated using a consistent spreadsheet-based model with no extrapolations or assumptions.
