Every Woman’s Marathon is a modern, inclusive reimagining of the marathon experience, designed specifically for women and built around support, community and accessibility. Launched in 2024, the event was created in response to research highlighting barriers women face in traditional marathons and the need for an environment where every participant feels welcome at the start line. Sponsored by Team Milk and supported by ambassadors such as Boston Marathon champion Des Linden and Kathrine Switzer, the first woman to officially run Boston, the race blends athletic ambition with an atmosphere of celebration and empowerment.
A defining feature of the event is its USATF-certified, Boston-qualifying course, intentionally kept flat to suit both first-timers and seasoned runners. The extended time limit of 7 hours and 45 minutes ensures that runners, run-walkers and walkers alike can complete the distance without pressure, reinforcing the event’s inclusive ethos. Amenities are similarly tailored: abundant aid stations, private lactation spaces and the event’s now-signature “VIPEE” pink portable restrooms, stocked with female-specific products, contribute to a race environment built around comfort and dignity.
Each year, the marathon relocates to showcase a new host city and broaden its reach. The inaugural 2024 edition in Savannah, Georgia, followed a route that started at City Hall, wound through 15 historic neighbourhoods and concluded at the YMCA of Coastal Georgia. More than 7,000 women participated, with an impressive 42% completing their first marathon — a testament to the race’s accessible design. Khia Kurtenbach won the debut event in 2:46:14, setting the tone for a competitive yet community-driven field.
In 2025, the event moved west to Scottsdale, Arizona, where the course highlighted desert landscapes and the character of Old Town. The relocation allowed organisers to accommodate growing demand while continuing the tradition of introducing runners to new cultural and geographic settings. Results for each year are available through the official marathon website, reflecting the event’s commitment to transparency and recognition.
With its rotating host cities, runner-centred amenities and emphasis on uplifting every participant, Every Woman’s Marathon offers a distinctive race experience rooted in empowerment, inclusivity and community — a marathon designed not only to be run, but to be shared and celebrated.
